Overview

• Custom member fields are over and above what the system defaults to for a member when registering or amending their profile. They are only available to Membership administrators, the specific users Zone Manager and the specific users Street Manager. They are not available to the member themselves.

  There are 7 different types of custom member field and you may create up to 40.

  1. Single Line Text Box
     A single line text box is limited to 150 characters
  2. Small Multi-line Text Box
     A small multi-line text box is limited to 4000 characters
  3. Large Multi-line Text Box
     A large multi-line text box is limited to 8000 characters
  4. Date
     A date checkbox produces a calendar when the user clicks on it and they may select the date from there.
     They may also enter a date free-form but there is no error checking and if the date is not valid, will not be saved and may produce an error.
  5. Integer (Whole number)
     A whole number. Only integers are accepted in this field
  6. Decimal Number
     A decimal number. Only integers and a decimal point are accepted in this field
  7. Check Box
     A check box for entering a checked/unchecked, yes/no or on/off value.

• Creating a custom member field
  In the above table;
  1. click the Add New Custom Field button.
  2. Select the type of field you wish to create from the drop down list.
  3. Enter the text for the field lable i.e. ID Number
  4. Check whether or not the field is in use
  5. Click the Add Custom Field button.
• Editing is simply a matter of clicking the pencil icon to the right of the item in the table.
• Deleting is simply a matter of clicking the trashcan icon to the right of the item in the table, though be aware that all values you may have saved for that field will be lost.
